The Memecik variety, which is reported to be the province of Muğla, constitutes an average of 76.2%, with a distribution between 7% and 90% on the basis of districts in the relevant region. This distribution by provinces is 60.6% for İzmir, 85% for Aydın and 80.6% for Muğla. In addition, the number of trees of the Memecik variety in the region in question constitutes almost all of the Memecik tree existence in Turkey.

The most important defining element of Memecik olives is the formation of a breast protrusion at the fruit end.
