The climate of Çameli district, which has a plateau feature, and soil properties rich in organic matter are suitable for bean cultivation. Çameli soils are clayey or loamy in structure, pH around 7-7.5, rich in potassium and free of salt. The growing period of beans is between 15 May and 30 September. The reason why the vegetation period is so long is that the difference in night and day temperatures is usually high. Bean seeds used as production material are ancestral seeds and are transferred from generation to generation. Since agricultural parcels are small and agricultural enterprises have fragmented lands throughout the district, bean production can be done in limited areas. For these reasons, extensive agriculture cannot be done, rather traditional methods are used for production. The characteristics of Çameli Beans such as its characteristic flavor, aroma, quick cooking and no crust when cooked emerge as a result of all these conditions.
