Product Story

Spaghetti has become one of the popular foods from the Roman Empire times to the present day. Some historians think that pasta was first prepared in ancient Sicily. But many believe that Marco Polo brought him back from his epic journey to China. The oldest known pasta was made from rice flour and was common in the east.

In Italy, pasta was made from hard wheat and shaped into long strands - a flavor much closer to today's spaghetti than this ancient dish. Spaghetti comes from the English word Spago, which means "string" or "string". In Italy, spaghetti (like all pastas) is usually cooked simply al dente (meaning "to the tooth") to create a slightly chewy texture rather than an extremely soft consistency. Due to its shape and texture (not too light or heavy), spaghetti can easily handle a tomato as well as an extra virgin olive oil-based sauce. Spaghetti is often served with meat or vegetables, and then sprinkled with a generous amount of freshly grated Pecorino Romano or Parmesan Cheese.
