Marble Lithology and Geology: Paleozoic Afyon white marble is a metamorphic classical (genuine) marble. Marbles, which take place as lenses in Afyon metamorphites, which consist of green schist facies minerals, are overlain by Neogene volcanics. It consists of fine to medium grained calcite crystals with a granoblastic texture.
Marble Color: The general appearance is white in color and may partially contain light grayish and light yellowish spots in the form of smoke.
