Düzce Chestnut Honey is a monofloral honey obtained from chestnut flowers sprouting from chestnut trees grown in Düzce province. It has a chestnut-specific taste and odor that leaves a bittersweet chestnut taste in the nose and mouth. It is dark brown. Its crystallization is slow. When it crystallizes, very fine granules are formed.

In addition to chestnut pollen (Castanea sativa Miller), which is the primary nectar source of Düzce Chestnut Honey, which is monofloral honey, pollen species belonging to secondary nectar sources are acacia (Acacia subs), geven (Astragalus subs.), citrus (Citrus subs.), laurel (Lauraceae), puree (Ericaceae), corn (Poaceae), thyme (Thymus subs.), linden (Tilia subs.) pollens. Plants that spread naturally in Düzce and are a secondary pollen source add a unique aroma to Düzce Chestnut Honey. In Düzce Chestnut Honey; primary pollen density is 80% chestnut (Castanea sativa Miller), and secondary pollen density is 5% linden (Tilia subs.), 3% thyme (Thymus subs.) and 1% heather (Ericaceae).

In the region with rich vegetation, the flowering period of the plants takes place in a very long period between April and October. Therefore, the nectar and pollen content of the honey produced is quite rich. Pollen and nectar resources of the region are the main factors affecting the aroma, sugar content, taste, smell, color and crystallization time of honey produced in the region.

After the milked Düzce Chestnut Honey is rested, a sample is taken for analysis. As a result of the analysis, the filling and packaging processes of the honey found suitable are carried out at the honey packaging facility in Düzce Province Beekeepers' Association.
